A. O. Smith Electrical Products joins Contractor Rewards™ program

LaVergne, Tenn.  – A. O. Smith Electrical Products has joined Contractor Rewards ™ as the exclusive electric motor supplier to participate in the program.

As a Contractor Rewards program sponsor, A. O. Smith will award enrolled contractors with reward points for purchasing replacement motors for a wide range of applications.  These points may be redeemed for one of more than 50,000 award items.

“The program is open to contractor customers in the HVAC, farm duty, commercial, and pump markets,” Jim Grasha, vice president-sales for A. O. Smith Electrical Products Distribution Services group, said.  “There are no product limitations.  Eligible motors include our popular Green Choice ® line, Master-Fit ™ motors, Juggernaut ™ inverter duty motors, Centurion ® motors and more.”

When contractors purchase A. O. Smith brand electric motors, they will be able to go online on the Contractor Rewards web site to record their purchase and begin accumulating points.  During the initial login, the customer will be asked to provide basic information about their business, including the type of work they do and the approximate number of jobs they handle in a calendar year.

Once the contractor enters the A. O. Smith motor model number into the system, they will receive a claim form to print.  They then staple the bill of lading to the claim form and send the documentation to Contractor Rewards to record the sale and earn their award points.

Contractors will be able to go online to check their point balances, view program information, enter codes from purchased products, and shop for awards using their points. Once they sign up, contractors will begin receiving a monthly “e-blast” newsletter from Contractor Rewards with news and product promotions.

“By participating in this program, our contractors can build point balances and earn great rewards simply by continuing to purchase the same A. O. Smith motor products they buy today,” according to Chris Daniel, marketing specialist for A. O. Smith Electrical Products distribution services. “We plan to offer special seasonal promotions and product promotions throughout the year, including promotions centered on our high-efficiency motor products.  We expect this program to generate an increased demand for our products at our wholesaler’s locations.”

As part of the program launch, Electrical Products plans to work closely with its wholesale partners to promote Contractor Rewards.  The company will provide counter displays, free-standing displays, advertisements, print, and email advisories.  A. O. Smith field sales engineers will be available to provide in-person training at branches.

Contractor Rewards was created by BI - The Business Improvement Company, to help sponsors like A. O. Smith learn more about its contractors. It is a tool used to attract new customers, grow sales of existing products, cross-sell additional products, and introduce new products.
