Ashland City, Tenn. – Leading water heater manufacturer, A. O. Smith (www.hotwater.com) is expanding its line of high efficiency residential gas tankless water heaters with the compact 120,000 BTU/h Condensing Tankless Water Heater.

Measuring at less than two cubic feet and scoring .93 Energy Factor (EF), the new 120k Condensing Tankless efficiently utilizes energy and installs on the wall freeing up valuable floor space.

“The engineers at A. O. Smith dedicated themselves to developing an innovative product that helps homeowners and builders maximize the livable space in a home, without sacrificing energy savings or hot water performance,” said David Chisolm, vice president of marketing. “The new Gas Condensing 120k Tankless Water Heater is the next step in our commitment to perfecting tankless technology.”

Available in natural gas or propane, the ENERGY STAR® residential gas 120k Condensing Tankless Water Heater processes a maximum 120,000 BTUs an hour and is offered in two models: indoor, ATI-140H; and outdoor, ATO-140H.

As part of a “green” technology that uses energy more efficiently, this new breed of condensing tankless products heats water only when it’s needed. Additionally, condensing tankless units are 10 to 15 percent more efficient than non-condensing units due to the advanced design that transfers more of the combustion heat to the water thus maximizing efficiencies.

The new A. O. Smith tankless unit operates on a half-inch gas line, features accessible temperature controls and vents with PVC. All of these features reduce installation costs and simplify the installation process. The use of best-in-class materials and construction with modular, easily replaceable parts provides long-lasting durability, with a life span of up to 20 years.
