Manufacturer’s first dedicated combination design offers
residential hot water and space heating from a single source
Ashland City, Tenn. – A. O. Smith, a leading
manufacturer of hot water systems for homes and businesses, will launch the
ProLine® XE Combination (Combi) Boiler to deliver immediate hot
water and comfortable space heating for homes. With its service-friendly
compact design, the combi boiler offers professional contractors easy
installation, set-up and maintenance in addition to a multitude of other
benefits.
Available in early 2018, the ProLine XE Combi Boiler is engineered
with residential building professionals in mind. By moving critical components,
such as the built-in circulator, to an easily accessible location within the
unit, service and maintenance are dramatically simplified. The combi boiler’s
user-friendly interface—featuring a backlit LCD display that provides text-based
diagnostic information—is one of the product’s leading differentiators,
according to David Chisolm, vice president of marketing at A. O. Smith.
“The combi boiler’s set-up wizard will help simplify programming
parameters for contractors, removing the need to interpret system codes and
reducing the overall time to install or adjust the unit,” said Chisolm.
“Homeowners will also appreciate its best-in-class energy efficiency,
reliability and space savings—it’s small enough to fit in a closet or small
room.”
Available in 110,000, 150,000 and 199,000 Btu/hr. models, the
ProLine XE Combi Boiler can deliver up to 4.8 gallons of hot water per
minute—the highest capacity in the combination boiler category. The product
features outstanding energy-saving performance with 95 percent Annual Fuel
Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) and a 10:1 turndown ratio. Further enhancing
energy efficiency, the combi boiler features an air handler interlock that
immediately stops non-heated air from circulating when it alternates from space
heating to domestic hot water mode.
Homeowners can rely on the combi boiler to provide on-demand hot
water in any season or climate. Its pre-purge function allows the unit to
re-ignite almost instantaneously during frequent on/off use cycles, like hand
washing dishes. Its pre-heat function keeps the boiler and brazed heat
exchanger at a pre-determined temperature, reducing response time to bring
domestic hot water to temperature.
The ProLine XE Combi Boiler features a five-year parts and 10-year
heat exchanger limited warranty. It is designed, engineered and assembled in
the United States.
