Benjamin Otchere was named vice president & controller
in December 2021. In this role, he is responsible for the accounting, financial
analysis and financial reporting functions of the company. He also oversees the
Company’s corporate tax function.
Benjamin joined A. O. Smith as
director of internal audit & risk management in 2012. He was promoted to
roles with increasing responsibilities, serving as global operations controller
in Ashland City, Tennessee from 2014 to 2019 and vice president – finance and
international controller in 2019. Prior to joining A. O. Smith, Benjamin was a
senior manager at Ernst & Young. He began his career with Deloitte as an
auditor for multinational companies.
Benjamin is a member of the Manufacturers
Alliance Finance Council. He also serves as a director of Junior Achievement
(JA) of Wisconsin and sits on its executive committee as treasurer of the
non-profit organization.
Benjamin
earned a BS in accounting from University of Cape Coast in Ghana and MS in
accounting and MA in international affairs from Ohio University. He is a
certified public accountant.
