
Benjamin A. Otchere
Vice President and Controller
Benjamin Otchere was named vice president and controller in December 2021. In this role, he is responsible for the company's accounting, financial analysis and financial reporting functions. He also oversees the corporate tax function.
Benjamin joined A. O. Smith as director of internal audit and risk management in 2012. He was promoted to roles with increasing responsibilities, serving as global operations controller in Ashland City, Tennessee, from 2014 to 2019 and vice president – finance and international controller in 2019. Prior to joining A. O. Smith, Benjamin was a senior manager at Ernst & Young. He began his career with Deloitte as an auditor for multinational companies.
Benjamin is a member of the Manufacturers Alliance Finance Council. He also serves as a director of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin and sits on its executive committee as treasurer of the non-profit organization.
Benjamin earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from University of Cape Coast in Ghana and a Master of Science in accounting and Master of Arts in international affairs from Ohio University. He is a certified public accountant.
