Christopher L. Mapes

Mr. Mapes joined the A. O. Smith Board of Directors in April 2023 and is a member of the Audit Committee.

Mr. Mapes served as the executive chairman of Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc., a global manufacturer of welding, cutting and joining technologies, including automation, from January 2024 until his retirement in December 2024. Previously he served as chairman, president and chief executive officer from December 2013 to December 2023 and had been president and chief executive officer from December 2012 to December 2013, after serving as chief operating officer from 2011 to 2012. From 2004 to 2011, Mr. Mapes served as executive vice president of A. O. Smith Corporation and president of  A. O. Smith Electrical Products Company until its divestiture of this division in 2011.

Mr. Mapes served as a director of Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc. from 2010 to 2024. Mr. Mapes serves as a director of The Timken Company, Nordson Corporation and RPM International, Inc.
